Mollie teaches a wide demographic of bodies, ages and minds in a trauma informed approach. She believes that there is no one way of doing anything, and reflects this in her teachings through having a million different ways to access all forms of practice. Her background in gymnastics, yoga and various forms of movement over 25 years has given her a thorough understanding of the anatomy of the human body and the way it moves. She is also a total nerd for neuroscience research and meditation, which helps her combine all practices of Yoga holistically to suit her clients needs.

She is based on the Gold Coast for most of the year. When she is not here, she is either in India facilitating Teacher Trainings, hosting Retreats, or practicing with her teachers Mark Robberds + Deepika Mehta in India or Bali.

Mollie has been practicing Yoga since the age of 15, however intensified her learning in the Ashtanga method from the age of 21. It has played a huge role in rebuilding her through recovering from Complex Trauma + Anxiety.  The lineage of her teachings includes Richard Miller, Sharath Jois, BKS Iyengar, BNS Iyengar, Swami Veda and Swami Rama.

Mollie teaches in an open, light hearted way, while honouring the source of Yoga, in a way that is accessible to all levels of practitioner. Her aim is to hold space for each individual and meet them wherever they are at in their own body and mind.

She specialises in Yoga for Mental Health and has extensive experience in the mind-body connection, and the purification process that Yoga starts, therefore has the ability to hold space for her students through the myriad of emotions Yoga exposes us to in a kind, gentle and loving way.

Mollie works one on one with both practitioners, teachers-to-be, and existing teachers to deepen their understanding of how Yoga and Meditation applies to them as an individual on a physiological and therapeutic level, and how to integrate into the way they live, rather than just an hour on their mat a couple of times a week. She empowers her students to cultivate a self practice and ultimately become their own teachers who see her as a mirror when needed. She has worked extensively with kids and young people, especially around using Yoga & Meditation to support mental health and emotional intelligence.

She takes referrals from Specialists, GP's, Counsellors, Social Workers, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists and other Allied Health practitioners who are wanting trauma informed yoga & mindfulness as part of their patient treatment plans. She offers trauma informed yoga classes to self & plan managed NDIS participants. Mollie also works in the education space teaching how to use Yoga to support mental health in high schools, healthcare conferences and workplaces.

Mollie feels so blessed to wake up and share the practice that brought her out of the darkest hours of her life, and honoured to be able to empower those she comes in contact with to build their own practice and their own tool kit of shock absorbers for this wild ride we call life.

Cameron Gulliford

"Cam"

Critical Care Paramedic + Educator on the 350hr Yoga Teacher Training

Cameron is a critical care paramedic on the Gold Coast with motivation towards evidence-based and holistic contemporary healthcare practice that recognises a dire obligation towards trauma-focused resources within the community to enhance health outcomes.

Cameron was a combat veteran prior to work as a paramedic. He has completed a Bachelor of Paramedicine and a Master of CCP leading to specialisation as a CCP with Queensland Ambulance. Currently he is undertaking a Neuroscience Masters to advance his knowledge of mental health as to best appreciate individualised mental health needs within the community. This approach aims to augment prehospital point-of-care and emphasize an interdisciplinary evidence-based, yet holistic approach for patients and to support peers.

As a veteran, Cameron was exposed to high-stress and high-trauma situations with subsequent recognition of PTSD and other trauma-induced conditions involving his colleagues leading to an interest in healthcare. Since working as a paramedic and with further studies and advancement to a clinical leader role, this drive has been strengthened. Constant exposure to traumatic cases, chronic stress, burnout, PTSD and an evidently increasing mental health suffering community has solidified Cameron’s belief that high-level, accessible, ethical, and trauma-informed evidence-based resources such as the Jala Yoga Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training is crucial.

Cameron will assist with physiology modules and support students in varied pathophysiology that they may encounter with their clients to safely teach, manage exacerbations and when/how to refer on to appropriate services will emphasise their needs and values. He will also undertake short research courses to assist the yoga teacher with basic research skills and how to effectively review literature to better support an ethical approach in the increasingly confusing landscape of misinformation and unethical practices that enable best client results.

Cameron is looking forward to teaching as part of the Jala Yoga team and meeting students that will shape a responsible and ethical contemporary yoga community.
