About Jala Yoga
Trauma-Informed Yoga | Counselling | Education | Retreats
Jala Yoga® brings together yoga, counselling, and professional education that supports the whole person - mind, body, nervous system, and lived experience.
Our work is trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and grounded in evidence-based practice. We don't do quick fixes or vague promises. We offer real, practical support that respects your complexity.
Whether you're here for your own wellbeing or to build your professional practice, everything we do comes back to safety and choice.
About Mollie
Jala Yoga® was founded by Mollie Cox, a registered counsellor, senior trauma-informed yoga teacher, yoga therapist, and NDIS Registered Provider based on the Gold Coast.
Mollie is an E-RYT/Senior Level 3 yoga teacher (1000+ hours) whose work sits across counselling, somatic experiencing, neuroscience, massage therapy, and trauma-informed facilitation/ education.
She is currently training in Somatic Experiencing (a three-year clinical training in trauma resolution) and completing a Graduate Certificate in Neuroscience and Mental Health.
As an AuDHD practitioner, Mollie's lived experience directly shapes how Jala Yoga operates. The way retreats are designed, the way the teacher training is taught, the way the counselling room is held. Neuro-affirming practice here isn't an add-on. It's built in.
Mollie sees counselling clients from Palm Beach Wellness Studio and via telehealth across Australia. She leads specialised retreats for neurodivergent people and teaches at national mental health conferences across the country.
Who We Work With
Jala Yoga® welcomes:
- People navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, chronic pain, and burnout
- NDIS participants seeking somatic or emotional support
- Neurodivergent women and teens
- Clinicians and yoga teachers looking for evidence-based, trauma-informed education
- Health professionals seeking self-regulation, rest, and practical resilience tools
- Anyone wanting inclusive yoga without the pressure to perform
Our Approach
We draw from both Eastern practice and Western clinical frameworks, including:
- Yoga Therapy, Hatha Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Adaptive and Chair Yoga, Pre & Postnatal Yoga, Yin Yoga & Kids Yoga
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Somatic Experiencing and Polyvagal Theory
- Mindfulness, Meditation, and iRest Yoga Nidra
- CBT, DBT & Solution-Focused Therapy (adapted nor neurodivergent clients)
Everything is taught through a trauma-informed lens, and at a pace that honours where you are, not where anyone else thinks you should be.
Why “Jala” Yoga?
"Jala" means water in Sanskrit. Fluidity, softness, resilience, and the innate capacity to adapt.
Healing doesn't follow a straight line. It pools, it ripples, it crashes, it stills. It moves around obstacles, sometimes slowly, sometimes with surprising force.
At Jala Yoga®, we honour that. We create space for you to return to your own rhythm and your own pace.
